Enda Kenny (born 24 April 1951) is an Irish former Fine Gael politician who served as Taoiseach from 2011 to 2017. He was the leader of Fine Gael from 2002 to 2017 and held various ministerial positions throughout his career.
In the 32nd Dáil, Fine Gael won 50 seats, 29 short of an overall majority. Preliminary discussions took place with the Leader of the Opposition, Mícheál Martin, to form a new government. However, Kenny resigned as Taoiseach on 10 March 2016 after failing to win enough votes for a second term [[1]].
